Rafaela Perera.

Rafaela innately understands the power of great storytelling and how to connect to a wide audience.

She kicked off her career as a copywriter in Melbourne ad agency BADJAR Ogilvy before moving to the UK, where she made the leap into television. She has worked for major broadcasters like Sky, ITV and Viacom.

As the Executive Creative Director of BBC Studios, Rafaela radically overhauled the creative department and expanded the team’s capability to drive content, brands and EMEA channels. The team’s critical and commercial success quickly led to their appointment as lead agency for the BBC’s biggest global franchise brands, including Sherlock, Top Gear and Doctor Who.

She has spearheaded some of the BBC’s most successful, award-winning global integrated campaigns and has collaborated with world-renowned talent including writers, showrunners and executive producers.

Gavin Leisfield.

Gavin cut his teeth at agencies in Amsterdam and Portland before joining Dare, Campaign’s Digital Agency of the Decade, to work on Sony, Vodafone, Barclays and BMW.

He embarked on a freelance career to work on the ITV rebrand and won a Gold Lion at Cannes for his work on the CITV rebrand.

During his consultancy at BBC Studios, Gavin was one of the principal architects of the organisation’s brand overhaul. He made a profound impact on the creative department during his tenure, helping to attract the industry’s brightest stars, working closely with Rafaela to shape the company’s future direction.

Gavin has lectured at Arts University Bournemouth and is part of the new London theatre company, Palimpsest. A talented strategist, designer, director and animator, he’s what we like to call a quadruple threat.
